Tracks 1-16 = “UNRELEASED 1997 4-TRACK SESSION”
My first ever recording with my newly acquired Fostex XR-7 Multitracker. The results were so crummy, we left it unreleased for 17 years.
Tracks 17-26 = “TOUR REHEARSAL: AUGUST 2ND, 1998”
Recorded on a Fostex XR-7 Multitracker at Jake’s house during rehearsal for our 1998 tour. These same songs appeared on our “Shattered Limbs Braided…” album, but at some point Brian re-recorded his vocals.
Tracks 27-31 = “MY STUFF”
Recorded mid-July, 1997 in Ear Bleeding Disorder’s rehearsal room during the same session that yielded our split with DEUCE. One of the other bands rehearsing in the same building had some of their stuff stolen from their space and came down asking E.B.D. if they knew anything about it. There was enough accusation in their voice to warrant mockery and the recording of these tracks. The recording was done with two microphones plugged directly into a tape deck. The second take appeared on our split w/ HYPO-CHRISTIANS.
ACE – Guitar
ANDY – Bass
BRIAN – Drums
CHIEF – Backing Vocals
KEVIN – Vocals
Tracks 32-48 = “HARDCORE FAILURES ALTERNATE TAKES”
The vocals for “Hardcore Failures” were recorded in Spence’s bedroom with no real way of monitoring them. A lot of the tracks sounded lousy, so we ended up re-recording a lot of them for the release. These are the songs with the original vocal tracks and a different mix.
The Italian hardcore group’s latest is a powerful, claustrophobic album that rarely lets up its mathy, metallic assault. Bandcamp Album of the Day Feb 6, 2018
