This release marks another style change for us, brought on by technology and different collaborators. Ezra (our sometime drummer Jake’s younger brother) was an aspiring DJ and somehow we ended up at his house writing and recording stuff. The addition of samplers and turntables opened up new doors for us and changed our usual writing process and yielded results that were different than anything else in our catalog.

Not having enough songs for a full release, we headed over to Chris’ house to attempt similar sounding stuff without the aide of a sampler. They didn’t sound too much like the recordings we did with Ezra, but they were just as good.

Right after releasing this tape we took off on tour playing all grindcore stuff. This tape and the split with HOMOGENIZED TERRESTRIALS were the only releases we had for sale. We had to explain to everyone as they approached us to buy stuff that these tapes didn’t sound anything like the set we had just played. I’m sure a lot of the tapes we sold on that tour ended up in the trash. Their loss, this is one of our best releases. It also features my favorite cover art of any of our releases, courtesy of Cole Hiatt. Stare at it for a while and you’ll constantly find new things within it.
